[Lighthouse Daily Devotion] Looking Unto Jesus

Looking Unto Jesus

Heb 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

If you pass me in a car on the road, please excuse for me not acknowledging you. I see other vehicles as something that will run over me if I don’t dodge them. Sometimes I wave at every vehicle that passes so that I don’t miss anybody. Yes, I need to pay more attention.

The Bible declares that we are to look to Jesus. That is looking to Him as our example, for spiritual strength, for comfort in tough times, in seeking others to come to Jesus as Saviour, for wisdom in life, for righteous living—in every way.

It is easy to get our eyes on the world, on finances, on self, on some friend, on some worry, on some preacher, on many things they should not be on.

Look unto Jesus. He is the everlasting King.

Thought – Continually looking to Jesus requires looking away from the witnesses, from the weights that drag us down, from besetting sins, and even from the race course itself.
