Mission Trip Update

Yesterday we took two of the older girls back to college, they are both studying nursing. They go to two different colleges a few miles apart.  It was like taking one of my own children to college; it was sad to drop them off.  They showed us around their campus, where they studied, and they even took us to see where they slept and introduced us to their roommates.  I am very proud of what they are doing, the grades they are making and very excited to see how God is going to use them. Thank you to all that help to pay their tuition and their school expenses.

Mt 25:23 His lord said unto him, Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

Yesterday, we drove for five hours to another city to be a part of their Thanksgiving Service.  I preached in this Church 12 years ago.  It is a wonderful Church that a blind man started 30 years ago, and he is still the pastor.  He is 78 and still going strong for the Lord and has no thoughts of retirement.  The building was packed with friendly, smiling faces.  There was a good mix of children, teens, young married couples, and older Christians.  After the service we had a great time of eating and fellowship.

I congratulated the pastor on his many years of dedicated service, but he said that the success of the Church belonged to the people and to the Lord.  He was a very humble man.  He does not have much in worldly goods, but I can only imagine the greatness of his rewards in Heaven.

God has a work for all of us to do.  When it comes to serving the Lord, there is no retirement.  May we each be determined to finish the course, be faithful in our service to the Lord, and to be faithful to serve others.

1Co 15:58 Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

Consider – Tomorrow’s life is too late. Live for Today!
