Ro 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Romans chapter one is known for the wicked result of those who reject the truth of our Creator. The unnatural desires originated from an unthankful heart. They became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Verse twenty-one states, “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”
The end result was God giving them over to a reprobate mind.
In the book of Mark, we have a different end result. The Maniac of Gadara runs to worship Jesus. (Mark 5:6 “But when he saw Jesus afar off, he ran and worshipped him”)
Because he had just seen Jesus speak and calm a storm, he knew that that Man had the power to bring peace to his life. We read in verse fifteen “And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.”
The Bible declares that this man who was possessed was now in his right mind.
From these two passages, we can see that the rejection of the Lord resulted in a reprobate mind, yet the encounter with Jesus Christ brings a right mind. The reprobate mind ends in turmoil and destruction while the right mind from the Saviour brings peace to a troubled soul.
Heb 13:20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
Consider: The more we water and nourish our relationship with the Lord, the more the seed of God’s peace takes over our lives.
