Dec 5 – We are now at the Lighthouse Home in Kakinada, India. When we arrived from Thailand we were very tired as a result of the traveling. We unpacked and rested for an hour or so and then went to spend time with the children. We had a great time and took a lot of pictures.
Today we will spend time with the children in the morning and then take them in the afternoon to buy a new set of clothes for each child. Thank you to those that gave financially to help us make the trip and to also buy the clothes for the children.
Dec 6 – This morning we spent time with the children in their dining area after breakfast we went into the Church building and passed out to the boys the new Lighthouse T-shirts that were donated by a lovely young couple from Lebanon, MO. We also passed out earrings, shampoo and conditioner to all the girls. We sat all the children down, and Ted and I did a small gospel program for the children, staff, and the Bible college students. Ted followed that up with a message that was mainly directed to the Bible college students and the older Lighthouse children. What a blessing to be with these children.
Whatever My Father Says
Joh 2:5 His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.
This morning I was going to need a little help so I asked Pastor Henry’s 16 year old son what he was going to do that day. He replied without hesitation, “Whatever my father tells me to do.” I thought at the time, “What a great answer, and what a great attitude.”
In today’s verse we see Mary’s complete confidence in Jesus. Mary was in a predicament; the wedding feast was about to take place, and there was no more wine. She had unwavering confidence in Jesus and told the servants, “Whatever He says do it!”
It is our joy, privilege and duty to do whatever the Lord tells us to do without question and without hesitation. We sing that great, old Gospel hymn, TRUST AND OBEY for there’s no other way to be happy in Jesus. If we believe what we are singing, we can say with that 16 year old young man, “WHATEVER MY FATHER SAYS.”
Encourage One Another
1Th 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren...comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
The word “exhort” means to encourage, urge, inspire, and give confidence to others. One way that we can serve the Lord is to encourage fellow believers. When we remind a discouraged Christian of God’s presence, power, and promises, we can help to lift that Christian’s spirit and help to restore his struggling faith. We can make a difference in someone’s spiritual battle.
Consider – Look around you, is a fellow Christian struggling? Does someone need your support and encouragement today?
