2Co 10:3-5 For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: 4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
The battle truly is for our mind!
We are in a lifelong battle, not against flesh and blood but against Satan himself. His attack is through our imaginations, our knowledge, and our thoughts.
There is a difference between our mind and our brain. Our mind uses our brain to think. When we trust Christ, we have the mind of Christ! However the war continues, it’s not over!
Pr 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he…. We must surrender our mind unto the Lord.
Ephesians 4:23 says, “And be renewed in the spirit of your mind.”
God does not talk to us through our emotions, which cannot be trusted, but through our mind. Not through emotions, rationalism or intellectualism, but through a renewed mind.
Ro 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
God speaks through our mind to communicate, change, and control our thoughts unto Him. But our flesh is weak. We allow strongholds such as fear, lusts, obsessions, habits, high mindedness, despair—to name a few—to destroy our faith and walk with Him.
The answer is in the weapons God has given us.
Our weapons are not carnal, such as education, legislation, or environment, though I believe there is good in all of these. Eve was placed in the best environment ever, yet Satan, who is a master of deceit and the father of all lies, deceived her.
Our weapons are mighty through our Father, who loves us and desires to give us peace and purity. Our weapon is His Word, and the power of His Word through His Son Jesus Christ. We have the legal right to cast Satan out in the power of the name of Jesus!
David did not fight Goliath with carnal weapons, but he came to him in the name of His mighty God. We have the same God!! Let God be the master of our mind!
Consider: Our bodies are the temple of God, and our thoughts are the decorations inside.
