(Brother Neff’s original personal note included) I am sending this out today because for the next two days I will be traveling to Thailand and India. During the next two weeks there may be times when I do not have access to the internet; but I will send out the Daily Devotion every opportunity I have. Please pray for our safety as we travel.

Isa 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

The Lord makes a wonderful promise to those who will trust Him. He is going to place a foundation stone in Jerusalem, a cornerstone that will serve as the foundation for any life built upon it. Whoever trusts this stone will be secure and never have to flee from the coming judgment of God (v.16).

This stone is a clear reference to the coming Messiah, the Lord Jesus Christ. He is our Rock.

All who build their lives upon the foundation of Christ will no longer have to run here and there seeking wisdom and answers to life’s problems and questions. We should not run away from problems and unpleasant situations; but we should quietly and calmly let God do the leading and follow Him with confidence.

It is a mistake to plunge into debt when we see the enticing ads on TV urging us to buy the latest gadget or electronic hardware. We should not make it our life’s mission to “Keep up with the Jones’” and plunge into debt to impress our friends and neighbors. We as followers of Christ must let Him do the leading.

Consider – We must learn to not rush into making decisions without the Leadership of the Lord.
