The Table Of Heart

Pr 7:2-3 Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. 3 Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart.
A balanced diet is essential for a healthy life. If we want a healthy heart, then eating healthy food will be necessary in order to see good results.
Our spiritual heart is no different. Reading God’s Word is an essential role in our walk with the Saviour. Memorizing God’s Word is also essential. In our text verse, Solomon uses the phrase, “write them upon the table of thine heart.” The way we write the commandments of God upon our hearts is through Scripture memorization.
If we use the physical example of a table, there is only so much room that we have to place things on a table. There is only so much time we have in a day, and we are limited to our years on this earth. The Scriptural principal challenges us to consider what we are placing on the table of our heart. Are we filling it full of things of the world or the things of God? Are we wasting time on computers and social media or in God’s Word and memorizing Scripture?
If we want to increase our faith, then we must be in God‘s Word. If we want to cleanse our way, we must take heed to His Word. If we want to be obedient, we must share His Word. Hiding God‘s Word in our heart is one of the greatest ways that we can share His Word with a lost and dying world.
May 2025 be a year full of Scripture, memorization, and drawing closer to our Saviour through His Word.
De 11:18-19 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes. 19 And ye shall teach them your children, speaking of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
Consider – God does not want us to have a secret relationship with His Word. We are to speak them in every arena of life.
