2Co 5:1 For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

I read where the owner of a tenement house had given notice that he would no longer refurnish or repair the building.  He advised everyone to be ready to move.

At first this was not a very welcome notice to the people that lived there.  The surroundings there were in many respects very pleasant, and were it not for the evidence of decay, most of the tenets considered the house good enough.  But even a light wind caused it to tremble and totter, and all the braces were not sufficient to make it secure.

Though they were unhappy, the tenets began to prepare to move.

Jesus told His followers not to get too attached to the things of this world, for they would one day leave this world and go to a far better place.

Jesus said, John 14:2-3 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

We may dread the process of moving; but we LONG FOR OUR ETERNAL HOME.

Consider – Love prepares a welcome. With love, expectant parents prepare a room for the baby. With love, the hostess prepares for her guests. Jesus prepares a place for His people because He loves them and is confident of their arrival.
