1Pe 2:12 Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
While I was in Indiana recently, I went to the Flying J truck stop to fill my propane tank. A young man filled the tank, gave me a bill, and told me to go inside to pay. I headed inside, did a little shopping and bought a few potato logs to munch on while I was driving.
I drove 25 miles before I realized that I had not paid for the propane. The next day I drove back to Flying J, and I told the cashier that I had forgotten to pay for the propane. She buzzed for the manager. The manager was very surprised and told me that he admired my honesty. This gave me a chance to witness to him and give him a tract.
Today’s verse teaches us that the world is watching our every move. They want to see if our “TALK” matches our “WALK.” The world watches a believer to see if he really lives what he professes.
Therefore, we must live honest lives, not only to please the Lord; but to be a good testimony to the unsaved.
1 Ti 4:12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Consider – The way to silence the evil talk of unbelievers is to live an honest life. Do right, till the stars fall!
