Ps 37:1-7 A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2 For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3 Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. 4 Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. 5 Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. 6 And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. 7 Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

1. Trust in the Lord when your resources vanish. Moses was hemmed in at the Red Sea. God said to go forward, and when they trusted Him, He made a way.  He shall supply all your needs when you seek and follow Him (Mt. 6:33).

There are many who have all these things without trusting God, so what is the reason for this command? God doesn’t want us to be like the heathen, who only think of, work for, and desire the things of this world. We are at peace knowing that God will provide.

2. Delight in the Lord when your circumstances change. Find the True Source of Joy that cannot be threatened. He will never leave you, nor does His love for you change, as all others are apt to do. Family, finances, health, and circumstances change constantly. Knowing and loving God will bring the greatest delight.

People in the Great Depression were jumping out of windows because their trust was in their wealth. All can change in a moment, but God never changes. He will never leave nor forsake you!

There are many Christians who have lost all in their health or their things, yet still have the joy of the Lord which never can be destroyed. Possessing nothing but having all things!

How can we be stressed when our Heavenly Father careth for us?!

Said the Robin to the Sparrow
I would really like to know
        Why all these silly people
        Rush about and worry so.

Said the Sparrow to the Robin
I think that it must be
        They have no Heavenly Father
        Like you and me.

Consider – Cory Ten Boom said, “Look around, you’ll be distressed. Look within, you’ll be depressed. Look up to the Lord, you’ll be blessed.”
