What Pleases God

Eze 18:23 Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?
In Revelation chapter 4, God’s Word tells us that we were created for His good pleasure. In the Gospels, we read of how God the Father was well pleased with His Son.
Our text verse in Ezekiel tells us that God does not take pleasure in death. Death was a result of sin that everyone has inherited from Adam (Romans 5:12).
When we connect these verses, we see clearly that our Creator takes pleasure in His creation and that sin is grievous to Him. Jesus Christ did always those things that pleased His Father.
Joh 8:29 And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.
If we are to please our Maker, then we must have a personal relationship with Him through His Son Jesus Christ Who has conquered death. This relationship comes by grace through faith.
God’s Word also tells us that without faith it is impossible to please Him (Hebrews 11:6). We obtain faith through His Holy Word (Romans 10:17), and we are to walk by faith not by sight.
It is a joy to know that we have a Creator that loves us, and that He has given us a manual that shows us how we can live a life that pleases Him. May our days, weeks, and years be filled with a desire to please the One Who gave His life for us.
Consider – There is no rejoicing in Heaven over a sinner who dies and goes to hell, as God takes no pleasure in it.
