The Little Things Matter?

1Ki 10:4-5 And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built, 5 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.

This is a very popular account in the Word of God. The Queen of Sheba had heard all that King Solomon was doing in the name of the Lord. So she came to meet with Him. Solomon answered all her questions, and there was not any thing hid from her.

But verses 4-5 give us something that is missing in much of modern day Christianity.  What we see here is that the little things matter just as much as Solomon's wisdom.

We could look at verse 4 and say that is what brought her to faith in the coming Saviour, but that wasn’t all that did, was it? Look at verse 5 again. You see, it was not just Solomon!  All those around him indirectly helped as well.

If someone is looking for truth, then they need to see truth also.  There is one major person in history that if he had seen truth, he would have gone down a different path.  His name was Mohammad and he started what we call “Islam.” He went to at least three different “religions” looking for truth, but all he found was words and no relationship. What they were living didn’t match what they were teaching.

This is not what the Queen of Sheba found in Solomon’s kingdom.  She talked with him and found out that he was the real deal. But she also noticed the people around him. How they interacted with each other, and here’s a big one that is missing today — “their apparel!”

Casual Christianity is hurting our churches today because it is not showing God respect! We are talking about the Creator of the Universe, but we will dress better for a funeral than we will to go worship a Holy God!

Dear people, we must never forget that there are others watching us to see if we truly believe what we are saying by how we live. Just like with the queen of Sheeba, you could be that person that lives a true faith, and someone who is searching sees it, and that is what shows them that God is real.

Consider – We must never forget—It’s the little things that matter.
