Prepare For The Journey

Ex 5:2 And Pharaoh said, Who is the LORD, that I should obey his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, neither will I let Israel go.
Some folks continue to do the same things, but they expect a different outcome. Pharoah thought he could manipulate and control the issues presented to him by Moses. For one thing, he did not have a true understanding of Who God is, and he thought his battle was with Moses. He simply did not understand the nature of his opposition.
Opposing God is never a good idea, and especially, when it comes to His people, the Hebrews. God’s message to Abraham is yet in force in the affairs of mankind, even to this day. We cannot agree with all the political positions and decisions that the Hebrew nation makes, but we surely better bless, and not curse, the Jew.
If only. If only Pharoah had chosen differently. If only he had blessed Moses and the Hebrews. Surely, then God’s promise to Abraham would have gained him blessings instead of destruction.
Certainly, the hardness of Pharaoh’s heart was overseen by our Sovereign LORD. But speaking as humans, we often say about people—If only. We grieve over the waste and destruction we see in lives. Often, even in our close loved ones.
Stiff-necked people will not allow themselves to look past Self. God says He will give grace to the humble, and He will lift them up. But He stands very resistant to the proud.
Jas 4:6 But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.
Jas 4:10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.
So, Pharoah maintained a hard heart. Yet, this did not result in God’s people being defeated. The victory was still theirs. All they had to do was hold their peace and continue to follow God’s Word. They did not have to engage in revolutionary tactics or seek to overthrow the heathen state. All they had to do was to humbly trust and obey.
This required that they prepare for the journey. God was already moving in a mighty way. Their whole world and life was about to change.
Beloved, you can trust God even when life looks bleak. It may appear that the adversary has the upper hand, but the victory in Jesus is yours. Man nor devil can prevent it.
Thought – God hears your cries unto Him. Your redemption is drawing nigh. Prepare for the journey.
