Pr 11:30 The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

Some of you may remember the old hymn, “Throw out the Lifeline.”  This great hymn was written many years ago by George Stebbins.  The hymn challenged all of us to be soulwinners and to throw out the lifeline of salvation through Christ to those who were lost.

One of the verses is listed below:

    Soon will the season of rescue be o’er,
    Soon will they drift to eternity’s shore;
    Haste, then, my brother, no time for delay,
    But throw out the lifeline and save them today.

This past week a boat sank off the coast of Costa Rica.  There were over 100 people on the boat.  All were rescued but three people who drowned.  Why did they drown? There were enough life-saving vests for everyone on the boat except three.  There was no life line to throw to them, and they perished.

If we are saved, we have the knowledge of salvation to share with all those who are lost.  May God help us to throw out the lifeline of salvation before it is too late.

Heb 7:25 Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.
