Isa 28:5 In that day shall the LORD of hosts be for a crown of glory, and for a diadem of beauty, unto the residue of his people,
The phrase “in that day” echoes through Scripture, pointing to a time when God’s promises are fulfilled, His justice prevails, and His glory is revealed. It stirs hope in believers’ hearts, reminding us of God’s sovereign plan.
In Isaiah 11:10, we read, “And in that day there shall be a root of Jesse, which shall stand for an ensign of the people: to it shall the Gentiles seek: and his rest shall be glorious.”
This prophecy speaks of Christ, the Messiah, who brings salvation to all nations. In that day, Jesus becomes the banner of hope, drawing all people to His grace. The rest He offers is not fleeting but eternal, a glorious peace for those who trust in Him.
Zechariah 12:8 decares, “In that day shall the Lord defend the inhabitants of Jerusalem; and he that is feeble among them at that day shall be as David; and the house of David shall be as God, as the angel of the Lord before them.”
God’s protection and strength will transform the weak into warriors, and His presence will be their shield. In that day, no enemy will prevail against God’s people, for He fights for them.
The New Testament repeats this hope when in John 16:23 Jesus tells us that in that day we can ask the Father for anything in Jesus’ name, and He will give it to us. Our access to the Father will be complete in Christ, our prayers heard, and our needs met by His boundless grace.
In that day reminds us to look forward with faith. Whether it speaks of Christ’s return, or the fulfillment of His Kingdom, it call us to trust His timing and live in readiness.
Let us hold fast to His promises, for “the Lord is good; and his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations” (Psalm 100:5). In that day, we will see His glory fully unveiled.
Until then, let us walk in hope and obedience.
