Eternal Dividends

Mt 6:19-20 Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: 20 But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:
I received a call from a close friend the other night sharing the wonderful news that his two grandsons had received Christ at Vacation Bible School. We had been praying for these two young men for sometime, and their salvation was an answer to prayer.
Back in November, my family and I had the opportunity to visit this friend’s church and to present the Lighthouse Children’s Homes Ministry. After the service, he and his wife picked up sponsor packets and wanted to sponsor children in the homes. For months, these grandparents have been praying for and sponsoring needy children in the Philippines while praying for the salvation of their own grandchildren.
In God’s timing, the Children’s Home missionary in the Philippines just happened to be in the states and visited this same church. The pastor invited the missionary to be the guest speaker at his church’s upcoming VBS due to a cancellation from another missionary. The first day the Filipino missionary gave a clear gospel presentation, and these two boys were saved.
How amazing it is to see faithful Christians in the United States praying and giving to rescue abused and abandoned children in the Philippines! As a result, God answered their prayers by using that same missionary from across the world to stop in and present the gospel resulting in the salvation of their grandchildren!
Eternal investments yield eternal dividends, and angels are rejoicing over these redeemed souls. Please continue to pray for these two children that maybe God will call them to the mission field one day.
1Ti 6:19 Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
Reflection—There is no better demonstration of faith than a man planting a seed in a field.
