We Don’t Fit In

3Jo 11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
It does seem that many believers exert a lot of energy trying to be a part of the crowd, to be accepted. But we need to get this truth firmly settled in our thinking that we just simply do not fit in. Believe it. Accept it. And move on spiritually.
No, we do not fit in. What’s more, we are not supposed to. We need to understand our own spiritual nature in Christ, by the grace of God. We have been given a Divine Nature when the Holy Spirit regenerated us. We are children and citizens of Heaven, not of this earth. Through faith in God’s promises, we become partakers of the Lord’s nature.
2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
This world is full of strife, confusion, disease, corruption, sin, hatred, and every other wrong thing you can think of. But this is not our world. It is an upside-down world. This is not our home.
Unsaved sinners are upside down people. Without Christ, they cannot be uprighted! If you try to straighten them out with logic, reason, philosophy, etc, etc—they will always revert back to an upside-down position. They need to be born again by the Grace of God! And the Gospel is the only power of God to accomplish it.
Ro 1:16 …the gospel of Christ… is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth….
Though we are on a journey through this upside-down world, some day soon, we will arrive at our home. Our home is filled with nothing but truth, righteousness, peace, joy, love, and every other good thing you can think of. What a glorious homecoming that will be!
Fix your mind. As a child of God, you don’t fit in. You never will.
