Are You Growing? Part 2

Pr 18:1 Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.

In part one, we learned that to grow you start with a desire. When you have the desire to grow, it’s going to take time, putting down your own will, and it takes preparation. Now we are going to continue with—We need to SEPARATE Ourselves.

What do we need to separate ourselves from?  We need to change from the world’s philosophy to God’s philosophy.

Ro 12:1-2 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

But how do we really change our thinking?

1Pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

That’s what the Word of God will do for you!  Romans 12:1-2 says the Word of God will renew your mind!  It’s not something you have to be scared of, unless you don’t know Jesus as your person Saviour. Then you should be afraid.

If you want God to use you, then you have going to have to separate yourself from the things of the world.  When you do that, you will want to… SEEK

Sometimes we just need to be reminded of the basics. Things like…  God’s Will.

1Jo 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.

God’s will for all of us is that we will continue the work that Jesus started, The Great Commission. This never changes for the Christian. We need to be giving the Gospel to as many people as possible. It’s amazing how much you can do when you are just seeking God’s will!

And the last one… INTERMEDDLE with all (mix together).

This is when you start living what you’ve learned. That’s when people start to notice that there has been a change in you, and people will want what you have! This is when you have as Philippians 4:7 says, “And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”

Summary—We need to have the desire to seek God’s will and separate ourselves from the world by intermeddling Gods desires in our own lives

Reflection—Be content with what you have but never what you are.
