2Ki 20:7 And Isaiah said, Take a lump of figs. And they took and laid it on the boil, and he recovered.
When Hezekiah knew that he was going to die, he prayed for a miraculous recovery. In response, God heard his prayer and extended his life for 15 years. Then Isaiah gave instruction to those attending Hezekiah to place figs on the boil. God did the healing, but He used human effort to bring about a recovery.
When we ask God to help us or others, we must be willing to do what we can, using whatever means God gives us and trust Him for the results. When we ask God for help, we must be willing to do our part.
Pray as if everything depends on God; work as if everything depends on you.
