Fight For Our Families

Ne 4:14 And I looked, and rose up, and said unto the nobles, and to the rulers, and to the rest of the people, Be not ye afraid of them: remember the Lord, which is great and terrible, and fight for your brethren, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses.
In the book of Nehemiah, we read of the Jews building a wall around Jerusalem. In verse fourteen of Nehemiah four, we can draw a spiritual application of fighting for our family.
The darkness of this world continually pushes into our homes through television, music, lustful desires, etc. Fathers and husbands must stand and fight for the purity and protection of our families. We do this by remembering the Lord and His strength.
The Bible says, Joh 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
We must also remember the importance of prayer and communion with the Lord.
Ne 4:9 Nevertheless we made our prayer unto our God, and set a watch against them day and night, because of them.
As we navigate life and we are faced with trials, temptations, and troubles—we must remain strong. The opposition we encounter from the evil forces of darkness must drive us to stand strong and build a wall of protection for our families. As we build parameters and protection for our homes, we continue through truth and righteousness to bring light to a dark world.
Our families are worth fighting for. Truth is worth standing for, righteousness is worth living for, and our families are worth fighting for.
May God give us the strength to stand strong and fight for our families while resting assured that our Lord is fighting for us.
Ne 4:20 In what place therefore ye hear the sound of the trumpet, resort ye thither unto us: our God shall fight for us.
Consider – Be bold in what you stand for, and be careful in what you fall for.
