1Co 6:20 For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Burdens and regrets from the past. Needs in the present. Unanswered questions of the future. Living with the anxieties and stresses of any of these is not necessary. Truly and thankfully, we have been freed from the burden of finding our own way and writing our own rules. As we realize and yield to these truths, we will find, by the grace of God, that we do not have to carry any of these burdens any more.
1Pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Exactly why is it that we should not carry life-burdens any more? Here’s a profound thought for your life—As a believer, you don’t belong to you anymore!
Having been bought with a price, you are now under new ownership and new management. The Lord Who bought you is more than capable of keeping you because He cares for you. You are not only forgiven because of the Eternal Sacrifice of Jesus, but He has promised to protect, provide for, and empower you in the present. Your future is as bright as God Himself is.
Just as you trusted Jesus as your personal Saviour, and were born again, so you now must trust Him as your Shepherd and Sovereign. It is a good thing that He owns you, for He cares for what He owns. Take comfort that He takes His new ownership of you very seriously. He is a wiser and more powerful manager of your life than you ever were or could ever hope to be.
So relax. Let Him carry the care that has you overloaded. Rest your heart and mind in the truth of His love. Trust in the wisdom of His Word. And seek His strength in prayer.
Now, upon a new day, be reminded of these things, as I have recently had to do. God’s grace is new this morning, and He welcomes you to rest in Him.
La 3:22-23 It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23 They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
Mt 11:29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Consider – It’s not always hanging on that makes one strong. Sometimes, it’s letting go.
