Joh 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
Paula and I were visiting a Church in Costa Rica yesterday. During the song service they always sing a song of welcome to those who are visiting that day. It is a great custom, and I always enjoy shaking hands and making new friends.
A young lady that was sitting in the row in front of us was visiting the Church that day. All of the visitors were asked to stand and while the pianist played the Church members went to meet and greet the visitors, shake their hand, and make them feel welcome. The young lady stood along with the other visitors, soon there was a line of folks shaking her hand, and some of the ladies also gave her a hug.
I noticed the tears coming down the young lady’s cheek. Soon the tears turned into weeping. She was overwhelmed by the love and acceptance she was receiving. I do not know what burdens this young lady was carrying; but I was rejoicing that she was among people that cared and were willing to reach out, help her, and show her the love of God.
There are folks that cross our path every day that are carrying heavy burdens, heartaches, and the weight of sin. May God help us to be like the Good Samaritan and not just ignore them, but to go to them and extend to them the healing love of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ga 6:2 Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Consider – A friend is one who sees through us but sees us through.
