Re 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
In part one of this three part series, we looked at Jesus Christ in His present tense as the great “I AM” who “IS.” In part two, we examined John chapter 1 and how Jesus Christ was the Word in the beginning. All things were made by Him and without Him was not anything made that was made.
The middle word of the middle chapter (Psalm 117) is the word “IS.” The first verse of the Bible in Genesis says, “In the beginning God.” These references to Jesus Christ, “which is and which was” lead us to the very end of Bible and, “which is to come.”
The final two verses of Scripture read... Re 22:20-21 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
Jesus Christ IS coming again. This promise of the blessed hope and the glorious appearing of the great God and Saviour Jesus Christ is one that we can rejoice in as we look for His return.
All of the troubles and trials of this world will no longer matter. We are in the presence of our Creator. The Bible say in 1 Thessalonians 4:18, “Wherefore comfort one another with these words.”
What a joy it is to serve a risen Saviour Who is coming again. Jesus Christ IS the Lord; Jesus Christ the Word WAS in the beginning at creation; and Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, IS coming again.
May we live our life every day looking for His return and serving Him fully.
Even so come Lord Jesus!
