Ps 1:1 Blessed is the man….
Ps 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
A lot of life has been packed into the last several months. While mourning my Mom, there was a Presidential election, my brother entered a year-long drug addiction program, we visited one of our Homes in the midst of transition, and numerous friends went through the loss of a loved one. But one common thread weaves through these diverse circumstances—the blessing of God.
Because of the truth and promise of Psalm 33:12, those who have claimed Christ as Saviour and Lord will live the rest of our days on earth blessed by God. That is a secure and solid promise made by God to His people. Although I fail God regularly, His Word and His Promises are safe and secure.
Because I received the gift of salvation 25 years ago, and I walk by faith under the authority of God’s Lordship, I am “His own inheritance.” This decision imparts many precious blessings to me as His child.
1. I am guaranteed never to be alone. Mt 28:20 ...lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world.
2. I have access to the greatest comfort available. Joh 15:26 But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father…
3. God loves my brother better than I do. Pr 18:24 ...there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.
4. Whatever circumstance comes my way, it is always for my good. Ro 8:28 And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
5. I will one day be reunited with my loved ones who have also accepted Him. 1Th 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.1Th 4:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
These are just a few blessings we can enjoy while walking here below as children of God. When troubling times come into our lives, as they always will, we can trust the One Who is always with us and loves us the best.
Rest in that reality, Beloved.
