Eze 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

God issued a strong indictment against the leaders in Jerusalem.  It was their duty to set an example for the people.  They were to trust the Lord and live moral, righteous, and just lives.  But they were anything but moral, righteous, and just.  And trusting the Lord was the furthest thing from their mind.  The Lord sent judgment upon the people because they would not obey His Word.

Yesterday in Thailand, we were getting ready to board the sky rail subway system to get to another part of Bangkok.  When the door opened a loud PA speaker bellowed out, “MIND THE GAP.”  I had heard this expression before when I was in London.  The loud speaker system would always bellow out, “Mind the Gap.” There was a space between the subway and the platform, and they did not want you to stumble and hurt yourself.

This is true in the Christian life. There will be times when there will be a GAP between the blessings of God. There will be times when it seems like the ears of heaven are shut. There will be times of disappointments and discouragements.  There will be things that we don’t understand.

These are the times when we need to MIND THE GAP and stand true to the Lord in spite of the situation.

Eph 6:13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Consider – We have an eternal standing in Christ that enables us to withstand in the evil day. We must not droop or slouch—but stand.
