Keeping God in Front

Isa 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
This verse is one of my favorite verses in the Word of God for many reasons—some are:
1. God wants to guide us.
God is the One Who is speaking in this verse, and He wants to guide you. But as the old saying goes, “God can’t steer a parked car.” Today, there are many Christians who are not sure what God wants them to do, and the reason is because their car is not “in gear,” moving forward.
If a Christian is not active in serving the Lord in one aspect or another, then that Christian is out of God’s will!
That’s a bold statement, but God’s Word says, Mt 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. In Heaven, God is never questioned, and His perfect will is done always. Imagine what our homes, our cities, our nation, and our world would be like if we just allowed God to guide us throughout the day?
2. We tend to be the problem.
At the beginning of verse 21, we see some very interesting wording, “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee…”
When do you hear something behind you? If you are walking toward God, your relationship is where it is supposed to be, and God is in front of you, guiding you. But, if your relationship with God is not right, you have turned your back to Him! Thus, you “hear a word behind thee.”
But here’s the greatest thing about this! Even though you have turned your back on God, He is still speaking to His child. He still wants that close relationship with you, and He wants you to turn toward Him again!
Our God is nothing short of amazing! He loves His children so much that He sent His only begotten Son to die on a cruel cross for us.
The challenge: How is your walk with God? There’s nothing we can do about yesterday, but we can do something about today. My prayer is that we will let God guide and that we won’t turn our backs to a loving God.
Ps 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
Consider – Always keep God in front!
