Titus 2:3-5 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
In Titus chapter 2, much instruction is given specifically to born-again daughters of God. Last devotion, we talked about what “aged” meant as an attribute of born-again women. This devotion, we will discuss another attribute found in this passage, “behaviour as becometh holiness.”
Ladies that have become daughters of God by accepting His gift of salvation ought to behave differently, they should behave holy.
The KJV dictionary defines holiness, regarding human beings, as being, “purity of heart or dispositions; sanctified affections; piety; moral goodness, but not perfect.”
The daughter of God behaves in such a way that others notice that she is different, set apart, and entitled (just not in a bad way). She will be moral, and the things she enjoys will reflect that. Every aspect of her life, or as the Bible calls it, “conversation,” reflects the title she is called to.
She will also strive to walk in such a way that depicts the life that God has called her to. Just like Paul wrote in I Thess 2:12 “That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory.” We are called to this worthy walk because we are daughters of God, ambassadors, and citizens of Heaven.
Peter also wrote in I Peter 1:15-16 “But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; (16) Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”
When a lady is also a daughter of God, she is called to walk, talk, and behave worthy of that title. May we always strive to behave in such a way that “proves” our divine calling as daughters of the Most High.
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
