Lu 8:35 Then they went out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

The man “sitting at the feet of Jesus” is the man that was formerly known as the “Manic of Gadara.”  Before he met the Lord, he lived among the tombs, ran around naked and could not be bound with chains and fetters.  When he came to Christ his life changed completely.  When the people of the city came to see what the ruckus was all about, they found him "sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed, and in his right mind."

What a difference Jesus makes!

When we accept Christ as Saviour, we become a new creature in Christ. (2 Cor. 5:17).  Our conversion may not be as dramatic as this man’s, but there will be a definite change no matter who the person is or what their background may be.

Salvation changes our values, our thinking, and our conduct.

The opposite is also true—if there is no change, there is no salvation.  This man not only demonstrates the fruit of conversion, but he also illustrates the position of discipleship.  When a person is saved, he will want to be near Jesus, and he will desire to learn of Him.

This does not mean we will be perfect. But it does mean that a born again person will have a desire to serve the Lord.  When we were lost, Satan was our father, and his bidding we did. Now that we have a new Father through the miracle of the new birth, we now have a desire to bring honor and glory to His name.

Let’s be determined to spend more time at the feet of our Saviour.

Consider – Christ had the power to save and to deliver. All He had to do was say, “Go,” and whatever evil indwelt the man was gone.

Did You Know? In Chinese, the KFC slogan, "finger lickin' good" comes out as, "eat your fingers off."
