Pr 14:2 He that walketh in his uprightness feareth the LORD: but he that is perverse in his ways despiseth him.

This verse explains why a lot of chaos and confusion is happening in society, politics, among our youth, in our public education system, and even in many churches. There is much irrational thinking, bizarre behavior, explosive anger, and rejection of truth.

Basically, perverse people are despising God. What’s deep down in the heart is making it’s way to the top side.

The root of what we see taking place is not just surface issues like abortion, homosexuality, who to vote for, or what political party to belong to. The prevalent defiance that we see is because people refuse to submit to the Lord God. They refuse to bow the knee and confess the tongue, that Jesus is Lord.

Lu 19:14 But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.

Such people take their aversion out upon those who believe and live by Biblical standards because their life-styles remind them of a God Who requires them to live His way. They try to remove all reminders of God’s demands—like, public reading of the Bible, public praying, praying in Jesus Name, and ten commandments content.

Rebellion, at its core, is primarily against God, though His people suffer from it. It does help us to endure when we remember that the battle is the Lord’s. Don’t take it personal. Moses told Israel in Ex 16:8, “...your murmurings are not against us, but against the LORD.”

When Israel wanted a King instead of Judges, God taught Samuel that the people’s rejection was not personal. 1Sa 8:7 And the LORD said unto Samuel..., they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me....

When Jesus sent the 70 disciples out to be witnesses, He warned them that the rejection they endured traveled far, clear back to the Father. Lu 10:16 He that heareth you heareth me; and he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me.

After understanding that it is God the world hates, it gives reasons for the ungodliness and moral depravity we see and hear about daily. The ungodly in this world are rebelling against God. They refuse to have their Creator tell them how to live or what to do. It is God, they are defying, not you.

Consider – Judgment is definitely coming, and everyone who rejects the Lord Jesus Christ will be condemned.

Did You Know? The word "good-bye" is a contraction of "God be with ye."
