2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
A Christian is not exempt from problems and pain. Paul’s life story includes words like – troubled, pressed, perplexed, persecuted, cast down. In 2 Corinthians 11, you read of beatings, imprisonments, shipwrecks, perils, weariness, hunger, and thirst. We may ask, “Why did God permit such a load to be placed on His servant?
At times our load seems too heavy, but God is using these experiences to teach us to depend on Him. God is building our character and conforming us to the image of His Son. It is imperative that we learn to depend on the Lord in every way and every day.
The Christian’s afflictions are light when compared to the glory he shall receive in heaven.
Reflection—God sends trials not to impair us but to improve us.
