Why Do We Do That?

Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Today, I want to just give you some thoughts. No points, no little sermonette, just some thoughts.
What got me thinking about this was just a few weeks ago, we were driving down the road to our next destination, and it hit me like a ton of bricks! My wife really does love me, a lot!
Let me explain. For years, my wife has tried to get the whole family to eat healthier. We would poke fun at her and ask for something that wasn’t so healthy because it tastes better. But then the revelation hit me. The reason she is doing this is because she loves us, she wants to be around us, and she wants us to have a better quality of life! For this whole time, we were, more or less, rejecting the love she has for us.
When I realized this, I had to ask for her forgiveness right away. Since then, I’m looking at healthy food differently. My wife doesn’t want to see my quality of life go down the drain because she likes doing things with me.
Now let’s apply that to our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He wants what is best for us! He gave us the greatest Book ever written, the Bible! The very words of God Himself show us how much He loves us! Philippians 4:19 But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
And of course, He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ so that we could be assured Heaven would be our home one day! Just like my beautiful wife wants what is best for me, my Lord and Saviour does also.
Reflection—So here’s the question for you, “What are you rejecting from the Lord that is good for you?”
