We Have an Appointment

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:
Yesterday I started a chalk art revival meeting in Cortez, Costa Rica. The Lord blessed with a great beginning to the meeting. There was a large crowd with many visitors and a great spirit. The Church had prepared for the meeting with much prayer and the passing out of flyers in the community. During the invitation time the altars were filled with people praying for their lost loved ones, others seeking a closer walk with the Lord, and praise God, three people accepted Christ as their personal Saviour.
During the day, I had sought God’s leadership in what to preach on the opening night of the meeting. Early that morning I had received a phone call from my brother, and he told me the sad news that his wife had passed away.
A sudden heart attack had taken her unexpectedly into the presence of the Lord. It is very difficult to lose a mate, friend or loved one. I would appreciate your prayers for my brother Roger and his family. (Editor note: Roger has now also passed to Heaven.)
We all have an appointment with death. It is an appointment that we must prepare for. The only way to prepare for death is by receiving Jesus Christ as your Saviour. Jesus came and lived that perfect, sinless life (that we could not live) and died in our place on the cross of Calvary – paying for our sins. He was buried and arose from the dead, proving He had power over death. Now He invites all to come to Him and receive the free gift of salvation.
Reflection—Let me encourage you to prepare for your appointment today.
