Things Pleasing In His Sight

1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.
Yesterday, after returning from a trip to North Carolina, we decided to stop and eat lunch at the new Culver’s where our granddaughter, Kailynn, is working to pay for a missions trip this year. While the manager took our order we waved at Kailynn as she walked behind him, and he asked if we knew her. Proudly and in unison, we said she was our granddaughter. He smiled and gave us 10% off for being family.
When we sat down and a server brought our meal, I started eating but could not help watching my precious grandchild serve customers and clean tables. Knowing she was working to pay for a mission trip made it a wonderful sight that I will never forget. We got up to leave, and I walked across the room to hug her and tell her how much I love her. Any time I see a young person with a strong work ethic, I do my best to encourage them, and you can be sure, anything my little girl needs for her trip will be my joy to provide.
In the car, driving away, I could not help to think of how our heavenly Father must feel when we serve Him. I tell everyone that I am a professional pawpaw; I can spoil grandkids better than anyone, and I do my best to keep my reputation intact.
Our heavenly Father is beyond compare when it comes to how he cares of His children. I believe when He looks down and sees a child serving, even if it is just waiting on tables, He is waiting to shower His child with blessings.
As we left Culver’s the help told us, “Have a good day.” It was a good day!
Reflection—God is glorified when we enjoy His goodness and His good things.
