The True Value of Salvation
For Women by Women

Romans 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
At the tender age of 8, in Hot Springs, AR under the preaching of Pastor J. C. Blakley, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart of my need for the Saviour. I didn’t know everything, but I knew I was not sure I was going to Heaven. My pastor led me to Jesus, and my life was under new management! With many questions, failures, and uncertainties, I knew I wanted to serve the Lord.
God taught me much more of what salvation is and is not. Still, I had no true knowledge of what it meant to present my body a living sacrifice. After years of learning more about Him, I submitted not only my heart but also my life to be under His control.
Recently I read about the Kohinoor diamond that was 186 carats in size. After being passed around it finally ended up in India. The 10 year old prince gave the diamond to Queen Victoria of England. Years later, the prince traveled to London and asked to see the diamond. They agreed with much hesitancy, fearing he had realized the true value of the diamond and would ask for it back. While holding the diamond, he turned to Queen Victoria and said, “When I was a young boy, I gave you this diamond. I did not know the great value of it. Now as a grown man and realizing its true value, I want to give it to you again.”
This story is a great example of many, like me, who were saved as a child yet not realizing all God had given us at that moment. I now say, “Lord, I gave you my heart as a child, but now I offer my heart anew and afresh. Help me to present my body a living sacrifice.”
