The Right Heart

Genesis 10:9 He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD.
Just a thought I couldn’t keep to myself in my Bible reading this morning: Genesis 10:9-10, 11:1-9.
Nimrod rebelled against Almighty God! He disregarded the past of his family, the principles of God, and he didn’t believe the promises right before his eyes, that is, the rainbow.
My thought was this—It’s not a sin to question God when you don’t know the “why” behind something. David did it all the time! But it’s the way, or attitude, in which it is done that is important.
How is your heart when you come to God with the question, “why?” This is a huge issue with people today! They come to God with, “WHY” instead of “Why, Lord.” It all has to do with this simple thought—what heart do you go to God with when you have questions? Is it the humble, reverent heart, or is it the rebellious heart looking for the way to try and trip God up?
We must check our hearts regularly like David.
Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: 24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
I hope this is a help to you today. Lord bless you, my friends.
Reflection—David wanted the Lord to go beyond his words, to his innermost feelings, intentions, and motives.
