Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

I remember well the times of giving birth to my precious children and seeing their tiny fingers and toes, their eyes, their ears so perfectly fashioned. I wept with joy and amazement at the miracle of birth!

I have had the privilege to be present at the birth of some of my grandchildren and by the side of a dear young missionary giving birth to her first born. Once again, the joy of witnessing this miracle produced tears of joy! Seeing a new life come from the mystery of God’s wisdom and knowledge that is above ours, causes me to stand in awe of our Great God the Giver of all life.

Psalm 139:15-16 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth. 16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

We are made in His image which gives every life value! Many times, and most recently, I witnessed this miracle again!  A young lady needing help. She came to be born again. She needed the miracle of the new birth that Jesus spoke to Nicodemus about. He didn’t understand being born again, any more than he could understand the physical birth which Jesus used as example.

I watched this young lady with tears in her eyes ask Jesus to save her from her sins! There were tears in my eyes watching the birth of soul!

Reflection—Creation in the womb and re-Creation in the heart. God is Author of both.
