The Connection to Unthankfulness

Luke 6:35 But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and to the evil.
Jesus speaking in Luke chapter six puts evil and unthankfulness in the same category. Being thankful is an important part of our Christian walk. If you have ever dealt with someone who is not thankful, you can quickly observe evil characteristics—like greed, selfishness, inconsideration, etc.
Romans 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
However, there is a vast contrast in the association of thanksgiving. Notice what the Bible says about the angels around the throne in Revelation.
Revelation 7:11-12 And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, 12 Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.
A clear connection to being unthankful is tied to evil, and the opposite is true when you are being thankful. The Bible instructs us to be thankful. We are His people and the sheep of His pasture. As the body of Christ, we should always give thanks and teach our children the importance of gratitude.
Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Reflection—A glorious privilege is to know peace in your heart; let it rule and be thankful for it.
