The Blessed Hope

Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
The blessed hope is so blessed because it assures believers that we will escape the torments of The Tribulation. That time period will be seven years of the most trying times that mankind has ever faced. It would not be so blessed, nor much of a comfort, if that’s what our future held. God’s children are to take comfort in the Truth of the Lord’s return in the air for them. This is not a false hope!
1 Thessalonians 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
Just prior to His crucifixion, Jesus gave some very comforting words in John 14, when He said, John 14:1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
In John chapters 13-17, Jesus was speaking to His own, and there is no reference to the Lord’s disciples about the awful events following the Rapture. There is no word there warning believers to prepare for The Tribulation.
Of course, normal life tribulations are unavoidable and are to be expected. What is promised the Blood-bought saints of God is the escape from the wrath of God. So grateful for the Grace of the Lord Jesus!
1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
The doctrine of the Lord’s Return is presented in Scripture as an incentive to holy living (1 John 3:2-3); to patience (James 5:7-8) and to a diligent walk (1 Peter 1:13-15).
Reflection—If The Tribulation awaits the believer, he would probably pray and look for death prior to, rather than looking for the Imminent Return of Jesus.
