The Best is Yet to Come

1 John 3:2 Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
The believer lives in a state of anticipation. God has done so much for us already. He has forgiven us of all our sins. He has made us one of His children. He answers our prayers, provides for us, protects us, etc—but the best is yet to come!!!!!
Even now God’s transforming power is at work in us through His grace. At the time of our conversion, we became the children of God and were made “alive together with Christ” (Eph.2:5). Additional transformation takes place as we submit ourselves to Him, read His Word and let the Spirit of God lead us. As we humble ourselves to serve Him and serve those around us, there is a transformation that takes place in our hearts and in our lives every day.
But still, the best is yet to come.
What a glorious day that will be when we shall stand in His presence! We shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. For many years we have served the Lord; but we look forward to that day when we shall see Him face to face.
Yes, the best is yet to come.
Reflection—We shall be like Jesus in person, in character, and in body.
