Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
Home canning is a process of preserving fruits and vegetables in sealed glass jars for future use. Until the jar’s lid has broken its seal, the contents stay preserved. The very micro-second that you accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour, He sealed you and will keep you preserved until the day of redemption. That is the moment when we arrive at Heaven’s shore to be with the Lord forevermore.
We are now preserved in Christ (Jude 1:1) and sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise. The “seal” stands for who now owns us, and that is God. The seal also enables the believer to be like its Owner, hence the name “Christian,” or Christ like.
There may be times you may not “feel” like you are saved or that God has disowned you, but rest assured that the seal that is upon you cannot be “broken” by you, the devil, or any act of sin until the day we enter into God’s glorious dwelling place to share in the inheritance that is in Jesus Christ.
Reflection—The Holy Spirit is not an option in Christian experience. Nor do we possess the Holy Spirit; rather, He possesses us.
