Pray For Revival In America

Psalm 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.

It is quite apparent that the United States is heading farther and farther away from God.  It is heart breaking to see America moving away from its original moorings.  I love America; I personally think it is the greatest country in the history of the world because it started out as a Christian nation.  We, as a nation, were founded by Godly people, on Godly principles and as a nation we worshipped God and followed Him.  Consequently, God blessed and elevated our nation.

Today, we see His Name being dishonored, His standards of right and wrong are being mocked, and the worship of God is fading into formality.  Yes, it is obvious that America is heading down a path of self-destruction.  But I am not a pessimist, I am an optimist. God is able to turn this country around if we are willing to turn to Him.

This country’s greatest need is an old-fashioned revival – a turning from sin and turning back to God.  We need a revival of Spirit–filled preaching, we need a revival of practicing what the Bible teaches, we need a revival of prayer, and we need a revival of praising His Holy Name.

Today as we gather to celebrate the founding of America, let’s take time to pray for the revival of America.
