Our Hope

1 Timothy 1:1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;

This time of year is an exciting time for many but one of sadness for others. Many struggle with loneliness and isolation while others look for satisfaction from secular sources. 

In Paul’s introduction to his letter to Timothy, he declares a glorious truth that Jesus Christ is our hope. Jesus Christ came to this earth born of a virgin and lived a perfect, sinless life. He paid the debt for our sins by shedding His Blood on the cross of Calvary and rose victorious three days later. 

For these reasons, we can look to the Lord Jesus Christ, who is our hope. Drugs, alcohol, secular activities, wealth, and materialistic goods will never satisfy as only the Lord Jesus Christ can. 

This Christmas season, may we remember that Jesus came as a baby, but He is coming back one day as King. While we wait for that blessed hope and glorious appearing, we can live a life full of hope because He is our hope.
