Love Is Not Blind

Joh 15:25 But this cometh to pass, that the word might be fulfilled that is written in their law, They hated me without a cause.
No one has ever been hated like Jesus was and is. This is in contrast to the fact that no one has ever loved like Jesus.
The Lord Jesus knew that He would be hated and rejected before He came with God’s eternal message of love. He knew every slight that would come His way. He knew of every harsh word, of every doubt, of every challenge, of every curse, of every swing of the whip and rod, of every strike of the hammer, and of the piercing of the sword.
Yet, with eyes wide open, He came. His love is not blind. It has keen sight, so much that it can read the smallest print and see the minutest flaws. Even the testimony of the Lord’s enemies reveals eternal truths about Him and His love.
What did they say about Him?
They said He was a friend of publicans and sinners. (Luke 7:34) They accused Him of being a glutton and winebibber. They said He received sinners and ate with them. (Luke 15:2)
It took courage for Him to do so, in light of the prevalent Phariseeism. They looked on Him as an enemy, and so they attempted to blast His reputation. And yet, their words help teach the world that He loves publicans and sinners. He went to their houses and dined with them.
He didn’t go to these places to condone their lifestyles, nor to partake of anything sinful, but to show the love of God and to save them from their sins. Though He was the Man of Sorrows, He moved among men with love and hope. He was congenial and compassionate. He happily sat at the social table. He showed them gladness and joy.
His enemies even acknowledged that His miracles were real. Although, they said He did so by Beelzebub, they could not deny them. It is easy to prove many so called “miracle-workers” to be frauds today, but there is not a trace they ever tried to dispute the reality of Jesus’ miracles.
There are other words Jesus’ enemies spoke that actually turn to a witness of Him. A last one is that His enemies were impressed by His trust in God. Mt 27:43 He trusted in God.…
Even though stated in mocking tones, it yet speaks volumes of His influence on them. These final taunts may have been the bitterest, and yet, some of the truest.
Consider – Jesus’ love gives sight to blind love.
