New Year’s Joyfulness

Acts 8:39 And when they were come up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord caught away Philip, that the eunuch saw him no more: and he went on his way rejoicing.
Joyfulness is something that is always great to have! Being joyful is something that you choose to do. So, where do we find true joy in 2026?
As we look at the Ethiopian eunuch, he was searching for that true joy! Praise the Lord, Philip pointed him to Christ, the ultimate joy! With that comes so many benefits! He has a God he can trust to remove all his sins (Micah 7:18-19); Someone he can turn to; Someone Who watches over day and night (Hebrews 13:5). He can now have joy because he knows that his eternal home is in heaven! He has a new heart, and that gives you a new outlook on life!
But all of that doesn’t come until you trust Jesus Christ as your Saviour (Psalms 13:5).
Here’s a question for you. Can you rejoice in the person of Jesus Christ? If you are saved today, think about the mercy and grace of Almighty God! We can trust Him in all things, and He is all we need!
2 Corinthians 12:9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
Salvation is a free gift to all of us. Let me illustrate this for you. Back 2019, the church I pastored gave me one of the finest made Bibles in the world! It was not cheap! All I had to do was take it. Someone else paid for the gift to me. That’s what Jesus did on the cross. He paid the price for your sin, and now all you have to do is receive that free gift of salvation, and Heaven will be your eternal home.
Reflection—The Ethiopian did not lose his joy after Philip left.
