Much Displeased

Mark 10:13-14 And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them. 14 But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
In Jesus’ earthly ministry, He performed many miracles, touched countless lives, and gave sacrificially. In John 8:29, Jesus speaking says, “And he that sent me is with me: the Father hath not left me alone; for I do always those things that please him.”
Jesus lived a life that pleased the Father. On various occasions, God the Father spoke from Heaven and said that He was well pleased with His Son.
In Mark 10, Jesus was teaching a group of people, and they began to bring young children to Him. The disciples, for whatever reason, rebuked them for bringing the children to Jesus. The Bible says in verse 14, “when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased.” Not just displeased but much displeased.
The disciple’s action here was displeasing to the Lord as He goes on to state, “Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God”
Children are very special to the Lord, and the Scriptures have a lot to say about those who have compassion on them. The Bible also gives clear warnings to those who neglect children.
As saved born-again Christians, we are to live our life to please our Saviour. God’s Word clearly teaches that one way we please Him is through caring for the children whom He created and loves so dearly.
2 Timothy 2:4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
Reflection—Bring the children. If they live for the devil till sixty, they are almost worn out, and what remains for God?
