Matthew 15:27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.
The Canaanite woman’s daughter was vexed with a devil and needed a miracle. She had heard about Jesus and perhaps watched from afar. She sought Him out and cried to Him to have mercy on her. He told her that He was sent to the lost sheep of Israel. She agreed but requested just some crumbs from Him though she was a Canaanite. He commended her faith and delivered her daughter from the devil that tormented her.
Jesus refuses no one. You may know someone that is standing near you desiring to have what you have but may feel unworthy. They may believe that the Christ that helped you won’t help them for whatever reason. Look around, and you may find them. You have more than crumbs to give them. You can lead them to the table of banquet where we all get to feast, no matter who we are. Jesus’ hands are held out to anyone, anywhere at anytime.
Reflection—She prayed, “Lord, help me.” It is a prayer that may be prayed by anyone, anywhere, anytime.
