Ministering To The Saints

2 Corinthians 9:12 For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
This past week our church enjoyed its annual mission’s conference. During the final service, our speaker brought his message from 2 Corinthians 9 to encourage us in our faith promise giving.
As I listened, the Lord spoke to my heart not only about my faith promise giving, but also how this same Scripture applies to the Lighthouse Children’s ministry.
In 2 Corinthians 9, Paul encourages the believers at Corinth in grace giving—giving above the normal tithe in order to meet the needs of others. He exhorts them to give cheerfully—not sparingly, but abundantly—because God is able to “make all grace abound toward [them]” so that they could continue to abound in every good work.
Encouraging the church to give abundantly, Paul says that “…this service [of giving] not only supplies the want [lack] of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God.”
The Lighthouse Children’s Homes exist not only to rescue children in order to feed and clothe them, but also to give them the gospel of Jesus Christ, and then disciple them to follow Christ. It is the workers’ desire that these children will grow into adults who will make a difference for Christ in their particular culture.
As the Lord uses believers to financially meet the needs of the Lighthouse Children’s Homes, the results will be many thanksgivings unto God! Would you consider sponsoring a child?
Reflection—The greatest sacrifice ever is one made for eternal purposes.
