Light On Dark Days

Psalm 139:12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
There are two things we find in Scripture that is true of everyone. One, God loves us, and two, the devil hates us. The Lord wants only good for us, the devil only evil. The Lord brings light into our hearts and life—the devil darkness.
But this is not a tug-o-war. The great love that the Lord Jesus has for us causes Him to take the bad things which happen to us, and He turns even these to our benefit. Joseph knew this and told his brothers that what they meant for evil, God meant for good. (Gen 50:20)
The Lord lights up even our darkness. Psalm 18:28 For thou wilt light my candle: the LORD my God will enlighten my darkness. It is a wonderful thing when the Lord takes all things, even the inventions of darkness against us, and turns them for our good.
Micah also also knew this truth. Micah 7:8 Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, the LORD shall be a light unto me.
Even on our darkest day, when the truth of God’s love comes shining through, we can sing the wonderful words of “Love lifted me! When nothing else could help, love lifted me!”
God loves you. Always! Even on your bad days. And He is moving things about for your good and His glory. His end purpose is to conform you more and more like Jesus—the Light of the World.
Reflection—We cannot lose with the Lord. He gives us light even on our darkest day.
