Know Him

Philippians 3:10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;
As Resurrection Sunday approaches, many churches will have perhaps their most attended service of the year. Sadly, many professing Christians only attend church services on Easter and maybe one or two others throughout the year.
While celebrating Christ’s resurrection seems to be emphasized on this particular Sunday, we should be reminded that every Sunday should be emphasized as a reminder of His resurrection. Another important reminder is that every morning as the sun rises, we are to remember Christ’s victory over death.
The resurrection of our Saviour is the foundation of our faith, and we must always remember that salvation is more than just having an eternal home in Heaven. Paul says in our verse, “That I may know him.” The Christian life is much deeper than just attending church on various occasions or claiming the name of “Christian.” A saved, born-again believer has a personal relationship with the God of heaven because of the death, burial, and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. This truth gives us direct access to the Creator of the world that we may know Him on an intimate level.
May we always remember the victory that Jesus won over death and fall in love with the One who died so that we may live.
1 John 5:20 And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
Reflection—This Sunday and every day of our lives, may we live to know Him and the power of His resurrection.
