Keep Me Safe

Psalm 91:1-2 He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Psalm 91 is about any individual who puts his trust in the living God, who knows God in truth and loves and serves the Lord.
It applies to Moses on the night of that first Passover, as cries of death rang out in the night. It also applies to David when Saul was trying to kill him. And it applies to anyone who will trust the Lord.
God is not a mere force or an intelligence. He is a wonderful Person Who can be known and trusted. You may have a personal relationship with Him through the Lord Jesus. You may dwell with Him, live with Him, walk with Him. And when life presents its challenges and difficulties, you have a secret place, a safe room, to flee to.
There is a day coming when Heaven and Hell will collide in a terrible battle. But you do not need to fear that day. Know the Lord. Dwell with the Lord. Trust in your God.
I like the old Gospel song, Till the Storm Passes By.
In the dark of the midnight have I oft hid my face,
While the storm howls above me, and there’s no hiding place.
Mid the crash of the thunder, Precious Lord, hear my cry,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.
Till the storm passes over, till the thunder sounds no more,
Till the clouds roll forever from the sky.
Hold me fast, let me stand in the hollow of Thy hand,
Keep me safe till the storm passes by.
Reflection—God is your defense against all enemies.
